The Inner Quest

The Inner Quest

I looked in the gold-bound book

Pleading for my inner pain to heal

I raised my head, mesmerized

Beautiful stained glass to see

I watched the wind and rain in

Violence and power pummel me

I watched the meteor hit with force

I was on my knees, it came not to me

As I yielded myself to nothing I knew

A warm spot grew and rose in me

Flooding me with warmth, well being

Confidence and love beyond knowing

Emptiness filled, fear and doubt revealed

Darkness not an enemy of the light

Silence nothing for me to fear for in me

Lay the answers right for me and we

I chose knowing over ignorance in me

Answers flow, ideas all about my head

Always knowing to be set free means

Yielding to the nothing inside of me.
